The dissertation research considers and substantiates the theoretical and practical bases of socio-economic training of cadets and students in the process of continuing education in the higher military educational institution of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Scientific approaches to understanding the essence of socio-economic competence are generalized, which made it possible to determine the multifactorial nature of such an integral quality of future State Border Guard Service of Ukraine specialists. By analyzing the scientific literature, it is established that modern professional training of border guards in the process of continuing education in higher military educational institution of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (which is the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine) is provided by all structural elements on the basis of approved educational standards, mutual complementarity of various forms of education.
The system of socio-economic training of future border guard officers and master’s students in the process of continuing education at the Academy has been developed, theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested. The components (motivational-worldview, information-content, conative-deontological, personal-reflexive), criteria (motivational – awareness of the value of acquired knowledge and skills in the field of economics for own professional activity and personal life in modern society, development of sustainable interest in economic component of the chosen profession; cognitive – the formation of a system of knowledge in the field of economics and the ability to competently analyze the economic realities of profession; activity – experience in applying socio-economic knowledge to solve typical professional problems of socio-economic nature; development – the ability to analyze, adjust activities in terms of economic efficiency, the desire for self-development), indicators and levels of socio-economic competence formation of cadets and students of the Academy have been determined and characterized.
The concept of socio-economic training of cadets and students in the process of continuing education has been developed, which is presented at the methodological, theoretical and practical levels. The structural-functional model of social and economic training of cadets and students in the process of continuous education in the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been designed, consisting of target, theoretical-methodological, content-practical, evaluation-analytical and effective blocks. Pedagogical conditions of socio-economic training of officers at the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education in the process of continuing education are substantiated, namely: creation of an integrated educational space based on the interaction of the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine; introduction of educational and methodical support for the purpose of continuous self-educational activity of cadets and students of the Academy; orientation of the educational process of the Academy on active program-motivated mastering by cadets of social and economic competences; use of modular and project training technologies for future officers of tactical level to acquire skills and abilities to make optimal decisions in simulated socio-economic situations of the professional context; development of motivation in students for the development of socio-economic knowledge and skills and their use at the operational and tactical level; consideration by scientific and pedagogical staff of features of social and economic activity during operational and tactical level officers decision of administrative, logistical tasks on various sectors of responsibility.
The results of the study allowed to identify perspective areas for solving the scientific problem of formation and development of socio-economic competence of cadets and students at the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education of Academy at four levels - national, departmental, at the level of higher education and at the departmental methodological level. The generalization of the results allowed to prepare methodical recommendations to scientific and pedagogical staff on improving the quality of formation and development of socio-economic competence of cadets and students in the process of continuing education at the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The reliability of the results of the research was verified using the methods of mathematical statistics by determining the Fisher criterion.
