Іt has been found out that the leading idea of the concept of research of the chosen problem is the priority of a monographic study of in-service teacher training systems in postgraduate education in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland along with subsequent systematic comparative analysis in the areas defined by the comparison criteria (normative-target; structural-institutional; content-procedural; prognostic-developmental). The study of the selected problem was carried out on the basis of comparative, systemic, structural-functional, axiological, andragogical, and competence approaches. A comparative analysis of the legal framework for in-service training of teachers of science and mathematics in postgraduate education in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland showed that the code of laws on professional development of teachers in both countries is similar. The main legal acts in the field of teacher training are the relevant laws: in Ukraine – the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education» (2014), the Law «On Education» (2017), the Law «On Complete General Secondary Education» (2020); and in the Republic of Poland – the Law «On the Education System» (Ustawa o systemie oświaty) (1991), the Law «On Higher Education» (Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym) (2005); Law on Education (Prawo oświatowe) (2016), «Teacher's Card» (Karta na uczyciela) (1982).
