The dissertation highlights the results of a holistic study of the theory and practice of professional training of future economists in the system of continuing education. The degree of elaboration of the problem is clarified and the conceptual and terminological apparatus of the research is determined. The author's interpretation of the concepts «professional training of future economists in the system of continuing education» and «readiness of future economists for professional activity in the system of continuing education» is offered. The essence of the key concepts of research «continuing education», «vocational training», «future economists», «system of continuous education», «employers-stakeholders», «professional competencies», «vocational training of future economists» is specified; criteria (motivational-value, cognitive-informational, operational-activity, personal-reflective), their indicators and levels of readiness of future economists for professional activity in the system of continuing education (primary, sufficient, high). Methodological approaches and principles of professional training of future economists in the system of continuing education are substantiated. The main periods of the genesis of professional training of future economists in the system of continuing education are highlighted and their tendencies are characterized. The state of professional training of future economists in the system of continuing education was monitored. The criteria, indicators and levels of readiness of future economists for professional activity in the system of continuing education are specified. The concept of professional training of future economists in the system of continuing education is substantiated, which contains the following components: conceptual-categorical, legislative-normative, theoretical, methodological, organizational-pedagogical and criterion-diagnostic, which ensure its integrity and functionality. A model of professional training of future economists in the system of continuing education has been developed and tested, the components of which are targeted (social order, goal), conceptual (approaches, principles), content-procedural (content, forms, methods, tools and technologies), diagnostic-effective (diagnostic tools, criteria, indicators, levels and results).
