Essay

The object of the study is the actual behavior of buildings and constructions during seismic impacts. The aim of the study is to increase the accuracy and structuring of the assessment of seismic resistance of buildings on the basis of the developed methodology and its implementation on the example of frame buildings. Research methods: laboratory and field studies; structural mechanics; finite element method; mathematical statistics. Results: a methodology for evaluating the seismic resistance of buildings is designed, taking into account the features of their actual functioning and the volume of initial information; the method of calculation using the nonlinear static method is improved. The practical results can be used for the practical tasks of evaluating the seismic resistance of existing buildings and designing new ones. The obtained theoretical results develop the scientific direction of determining the seismic resistance of buildings and constructions. Implemented in the educational process of the Educational and Methodological Center of the State Emergency Service and the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture also in the design and evaluation of seismic resistance of buildings.
