Totska O. Managing the Development of Higher Education in Ukraine

The role and place of domestic higher education in the formation of the national knowledge economy are determined; the genesis of the theory of management of development of higher education is investigated; European Higher Education Area is characterized. The author’s definition of the term higher education is formed. The periodization of the development of the theory of higher education management in Ukraine has been carried out at the following stages: 1) by 2004 – the average level of research activity; 2) 2005–2012 – high level of research activity after Ukraine’s accession to the Bologna Process; 3) 2013–2019 – activity of scientific research at a level above average. Сonceptual and categorical apparatus of research of the process of higher education development management in terms of clarification and specification of definitions «higher education», «management of higher education development in terms of integration into the European educational space», «higher education development management system in terms of integration into the European educational space», «institutional environment of higher education», «organizational structure of the higher education institution (HEI)», «market conditions of educational services», «strategy of higher education institution» has been further developed.
