Essay

The study solves the scientific problem of developing a doctrine of the functions of constitutional law as a branch of Ukrainian Law. It is proposed to consider that the function of constitutional law as a branch of Ukrainian law is the direction of regulating a specific type or group of public relations that are the subject of national constitutional law, in order to realize the public interest, which is to establish constitutional human rights and freedoms, rule of law and democracy, law and order. Among the features of the functions of constitutional law as a branch of Ukrainian law, which have a general character and are inherent in the functions not only of the branches of constitutional law, but also of other branches, it is proposed to consider the following: they most emphatically express the essence and content of the branch, its purpose in society and the state, as well as the role and place in the national legal system; they are expressed in the formation, change and termination of legal relations, which is the subject of constitutional law; they are directly related to the system of constitutional law as a branch of law, its norms and institutions, forming stable system-functional, structural and genetic links that characterize the static and dynamic, material and procedural properties of constitutional law; they are the directions and types of activity of constitutional law in relation to the purposeful influence on public relations.
