The author of the dissertation has evaluated the state of the research field; categorized the sources pertinent to the research project; determined the methodological approaches, taken in the process of its writing; studied the origins of Z.Brzezinski’s international strategic outlook and the initial stage of formation of his strategic perspective; elucidated the contents and methods of his efforts of putting into reality his own international strategic views in the years of J. Carter presidential administration; traced back the evolution of Z. Brzezinski’s perspective on the US international strategy of the late 20th - early 21st century; cleared up the essence and public relevance of Z. Brzezinski’s appreciation of Ukrainian independence as international strategic phenomenon as well as his vision of the place Ukraine and Russian Federation take in the system of international relations of the late 20th- early 21st century; comparatively analyzed the international strategic guidelines, which Z. Brzezinski, H. Kissinger and S. Huntington produced; put forward the concept of the typological characteristics of an international strategist’s personality.
