The dissertation analyzes and develops scientific views on the innovative development of an enterprise in the context of modern theories, generalizes scientific knowledge about the patterns and directions of evolution of theories of management of innovative development of an enterprise, conceptualizes the foundations of management of innovative development of an enterprise from the point of view of a resource approach. From the standpoint of the theory of resources, the management of innovative development of an enterprise can be represented as the formation of resources that meet the VRIO criteria, and dynamic capabilities that ensure the continuous reproduction of such resources for innovative development. The world experience of monitoring innovative development at the macro level has been comprehensively studied and summarized. A normative, sectoral and geographical analysis of leading innovative companies has been carried out, a methodology has been developed for studying the innovative dynamic capabilities of enterprises-leaders in innovative development. A fuzzy knowledge base is formed and used to select the best management practices, create new combinations and sets of forms in managing the innovative development of an enterprise. The similarity of the action of innovation and reputation has been revealed, which gives grounds to recommend to countries seeking to obtain a sustainable competitive advantage to allocate resources to the management of innovative development and reputation.
