The thesis is devoted to the development of theoretical and methodological bases of formation of the competitiveness of enterprises in the economic management system and substantiation of scientific and methodical tools as well as practical recommendations for their implementation.
The evolution of competition concepts in the context of formation of the competitiveness is studied. The essence of formation of the competitiveness of enterprises is analysed. The levels of the competitiveness are characterized according to the hierarchical structure of its forming up. Theoretical approaches to determining the essence of competitive potential, competitive advantages, and competitive status are generalized and the dialectic of the relationship between them when shaping the competitiveness of enterprises is established. It is substantiated that the competitive potential is the basis for ensuring the competitiveness of the enterprise in the direction of formation, preservation and development of competitive advantages of the enterprise. The essence of key characteristics of the competitive potential of the enterprise is clarified. A change of focus in the sources of formation of competitive advantages is analysed.
The modern paradigm of economic management of the enterprise is investigated. The content-related features of special types of management are highlighted; the subject spheres of organizational, production, marketing, financial and economic management are defined and differentiated. The dialectic of the relationship between the structural elements of the economic management system of the enterprise is described. The interrelation and interaction of the competitiveness of enterprises with other objects of economic management is established and studied. The essence of the competitiveness of enterprises as an object of economic management in terms of its main interconnected components is clarified. Methods of assessing the competitiveness of enterprises are characterized. Conceptual principles of forming the competitiveness of enterprises in the economic management system are developed. The basic principles of formation of the competitiveness of enterprises are formulated. The interaction between subjects and objects of formation of the competitiveness of enterprises in the economic management system (including their competitive potential, competitive advantages and competitive status) is investigated.
The state of Ukrainian machine building industry in a competitive environment is monitored. The diagnostics of economic conditions of machine building enterprises for the period of the last decade is carried out. The regional aspect of development of machine building enterprises is described. The background for formation of the competitiveness of machine building enterprises is studied and the main parameters that determine the above are identified on the basis of evaluation and analysis of the financial statements indicators that characterize the financial and economic standing of thirty one Ukrainian machine building enterprises, selected as a sample for the purposes of our work, for the period of 2008-2019.
Peculiarities of the formation of the structure of competitive potential of machine building enterprises in the economic management system are highlighted. The methodology for determining the components of the competitive potential of machine building enterprises is proposed, which boils down to taking into account the sectorial features of formation of the competitive potential; analysis of the resources that characterize the components of the competitive potential of machine building enterprises, and most fully reveal the resource perspective of the competitiveness of enterprises in the economic management system. The components of the competitive potential of enterprises in the economic management system are identified. The influence of factors on ensuring the competitive advantages of machine building enterprises is determined.
