The monograph explores the systemic aspects of the phenomenon of "new simplicity" as a stylistic category of modern musical art. The following tasks are solved in the work: musicological approaches to the phenomenon of "new simplicity" and its problematic circle in musicological discourse are clarified; the worldview and artistic and so stylistic principles of forming the concept of "new simplicity" in the works of Western European composers of the second half of the twentieth century are substantiated; the creative intentions of individual-composer versions of the "new simplicity" in the space of Soviet/post-Soviet musical art are highlighted; methodical bases of research of a phenomenon of "new simplicity" are defined; the verbal discourse of composers-representatives of the "new simplicity" in the context of the methodological orientation of modern musicology is considered; the author's composer's word as a precondition of musicological modeling of the theoretical concept of "new simplicity" is investigated; the musical-stylistic paradigm of the second half of the XX and beginning of the XXI centuries as a factor of contextual meanings of the "new simplicity" is considered; the semantic complex of the concept of simplicity in certain artistic and also aesthetic bases of musical art is revealed; the antinomy of simplicity and complexity as a factor of musical-stylistic complex of "new simplicity" is substantiated; the meaningful senses of the category "new" in the academic musical art of the XX century and "new simplicity" are determined; the significance of the genre-communicative modus and the compensatory function of the "new simplicity" is investigated (on the example of V. Silvestrov's "weak style"); the tendency of universalization of the musical-semantic complex of "new simplicity" in modern art is considered on the example of revealing its semantic functions in cinematography.
