The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the substantiation of theoretical-methodical and methodological bases of managing the formation of the business model of aviation enterprises in competitive markets. The essential characteristics of the concept of "business model of an aviation enterprise", the genesis of conceptual views regarding the concept of "business model", processes, prerequisites and contradictions of the formation of a business model of an aviation enterprise and theoretical approaches to management as the basis of ensuring its competitiveness are determined. The author's division of each type of business model of aviation enterprises by types of business models is proposed, which is presented according to classical classification features, which contributes to the need to manage the formation of a modern business model of an aviation enterprise in competitive markets. Modern trends and economic problems of the aviation market in Ukraine are studied and will focus on assessing the influence of external environmental factors, determining the level of monopolization and concentration of the aviation market by constructing a competitive market map.
