Thesis for the scientific degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty 13.00.04 – Theory and Methods of Professional Education. – Institute of Vocational Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2023. The theoretical foundation and development of the author's concept of forming a safety culture in the professional activities of future labor protection engineers have been substantiated, which is the theoretical basis for their preparation for professional activity on the principles of a safety culture, aimed at: updating the content of the safety culture component; ensuring effective interaction and cooperation of students, teachers of higher education institutions, representatives of labor protection authorities and labor protection services of enterprises, organizations; combining methodological approaches and principles of safety culture formation; scientifically grounded selection of content, forms, methods, technologies that contribute to the increase in the level of safety culture formation in future labor protection engineers in higher education institutions. Pedagogical conditions for the formation of a safety culture in professional activities in future labor protection engineers were substantiated (formation of motivation for mastering the safety culture of professional activity; updating the content of professional training taking into account the safety culture component based on interdisciplinary integration; introduction of innovative learning technologies; application of methods and forms of modeling dangerous situations in professional activity), which provide positive dynamics in the formation of motives, professional knowledge and skills, professionally important qualities in future labor protection engineers. A model of the formation of a safety culture in professional activities in future labor protection engineers has been designed, which includes the following blocks: target, theoretical-methodological, content-processual and diagnostic-resultant, and facilitates positive shifts in the levels of safety culture formation in future labor protection engineers. A system of criteria for the formation of a safety culture in the professional activities of future labor protection engineers and the corresponding indicators have been proposed: motivational-value, intellectual-cognitive, activity-behavioral, subject-reflexive. The levels of safety culture formation in future labor protection engineers have been identified: basic (reproductive), sufficient (constructive) and high (creative). The effectiveness of the pedagogical system of forming a safety culture in professional activities in future labor protection engineers has been developed and experimentally verified. The pedagogical system is based on the principles of systemic, humanistic, cultural, axiological, subject-subject, competency-based, ergonomic, activity, contextual, environmental approaches. Such a pedagogical system is aimed at implementing the goals, content of learning, forms of organizing educational activities, methods, technologies. The content of forming a safety culture in professional activities in future labor protection engineers has been improved - the improvement lies in the selection and structuring of content, which includes such content components: labor protection, organizational management, legal, ergonomic, health-preserving, communicative. The results of the experimental implementation of the pedagogical system were summarized and the prospects for forming a safety culture in professional activities in future labor protection engineers were predicted. Methodological recommendations for forming a safety culture in professional activities in future labor protection engineers in higher education institutions have been prepared.
