The thesis for the degree of Doctor of Economics in the specialty 08.00.04 – Economics and Enterprise Management (by types of economic activity). – Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko. – Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. – Kyiv, 2025. The dissertation is devoted to solving a relevant scientific and applied problem related to the development of theoretical, methodological, and scientific and applied principles for managing sustainable development of enterprises in terms of globalization. The subject field of enterprise sustainable development research has been formed. The conceptual and categorical framework of the study has been clarified. The determinants of sustainable enterprise development have been analyzed and their systematization has been deepened based on two characteristics: by place of origin and by sphere of origin. The classification of sustainable development risks has been supplemented with the types “emerging risks” and “unexpected risks.” A theoretical and methodological approach to determining the conceptual directions of enterprise sustainable development has been proposed. The methodological approach to assessing the state of sustainable enterprise development has been improved through the use of an economic-mathematical model. Strategies for development have been proposed to be systematized in accordance with the stage of economic market development and the enterprise’s stage of development. The feasibility of implementing the “Friendly environment” strategy has been substantiated. A theoretical and methodological approach to forming an enterprise sustainable development strategy has been developed, which provides for taking risks into account and ensuring cooperation and interaction with all enterprise stakeholders, including competitors. The classification of sustainable development infrastructure has been expanded with a new classification feature “by type of activity” and corresponding subjects have been specified. The systematization of elements of the sustainable enterprise development management toolkit has been further developed by types, methods, analyses, technologies, and methods of influence. A business model for managing enterprise sustainable development has been proposed, which ensures the creation of social and consumer value and takes into account: the requirements for sustainable enterprise activities formed by the external environment; directions for forming and using enterprise potential; the implementation of new technologies and innovations; risks; the creation of an information contour of activities; the system of activity safety assurance; anti-crisis management systems and self-education and self-improvement systems embedded in the enterprise sustainable development management system. The mechanism for managing sustainable enterprise development has been supplemented with a “Interaction subsystem” and the components of its other subsystems have been expanded.
