The thesis is dedicated to aspects of development of membrane pathology (on example of vibration disease). A new trend of occupational pathology was studied in the work; it is based on the concept of participation of abnormal structural-functional properties of erythrocyte membranes in the genesis of the disease. It has been revealed that patients with vibration disease have an excessive intracellular accumulation of Ca2+, elimination of K+ from cells, a decrease in the contents of membrane proteins (spectrin, actin, protein of stria 3), activation of lipid peroxidation processes and a reduction in the activity of the antioxidant system. The author suggests therapeutic methods for correction of the revealed abnormalities with use of different groups of calcium antagonist preparations (nifedipine, diltiazem and verapamil) possessing a membrane protecting action, as well as combinations of nifedipine with unithiol preparation - a potent Ukrainian antioxidant; it resulted in an improvement of clinical st ate of the patient and normalization of the structural-functional state of erythrocyte membranes. Programmers of individualized treatment of patients with vibration disease have been developed and suggested for practical application.
