Essay

Object for study - composite materials, design and processing stern tube bearings (STB) and stern tubes (ST). Purpose of study - development, increase in durability, reliability, repair ability and ecological purity of ST. Methods of study - laboratory investigations of polymer composites properties and field tests of STB. Theoretical results and newness - hardening mechanism is based, friction mechanism vs. materials, environment as well as reverse number is determined. Practical results and newness - polyamide STB processing is developed and designs for various ships are made optimal. A new lubrication system for STB with babbite bearings is offered. There is positive decision from 24.09.97 by No 97094712 on the Ukraine patent. Installation degree - industrial installation of STB processing in ships repairing factories as well as ships. Area of use - low, middle and large sea ships.
