Alfeldii S. Justification of glass-ceramic materials in treatment of patients with fractures and defects of long bones

The dissertation is devoted to improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with long bone defects in the limbs by means of experimental substantiation and clinical approbation of glass-ceramic materials’ usage. It is established that osteoreparation around the vitrified clay material АСЗ-5 runs in accordance with the well-known stages with the formation of lamellar bone tissue for the final study period (90 days). The peculiarity of АСЗ-5 material in comparison with БС-11 is its gradual resorption with the formation of the bone tissue along the perimeter and in the external parts, penetration into the internal parts of the tissue fluid, poorly differentiated cells, fibroblasts, and for the final term of investigation (90 days) - connective tissue. Clinical approbation was carried out to confirm the expediency of reconstructive interventions with the usage of vitrified clay materials for patients with long bone defects in the limbs of different genesis.
