Essay

Thesis presents the analysis of procedural and methodological background of fine art forensic enquiry, formulates and substantiates a set of new concepts, provisions and conclusions which are utterly significant for the forensic science theory, criminalistics, criminal procedure and pre-trial investigation practices, expanding the understanding of fine art forensic enquiry as a process, its place in the forensic examination hierarchy. It is substantiated that diagnostic fine art forensic enquiries constitute a more complex type of forensic fine art examinations aimed to: identify the mechanism of the event; determine time, method and sequence of actions, events, identification of cause-and-effect relations between time, method and sequence of actions (method used to compare the version with tangible media); essence and qualitative characteristics of objects; identification of properties and features that are not directly perceptible.
