Bandus V. Scientific achievements of Professor V. O. Dobrovolsky (1884–1963) in the field of materials science and general mechanical engineering

The object of research is the development and formation of general mechanical engineering and materials science in the context of building a system of higher professional education in Ukraine in the XX – early XXI century. The subject of research is the scientific, pedagogical, organizational, public activities of Professor V. O. Dobrovolsky, his theoretical and practical contribution to the development of general engineering and materials science of the first half – mid-twentieth century. The scientific and practical task of conducting is a comprehensive historical and scientific analysis of Professor V. O. Dobrovolsky's activity, research of his professional, scientific, pedagogical and organizational heritage in the formation and development of Ukrainian engineering of the first half – mid-twentieth century is solved in the dissertation. The directions of scientific researches on definition of factors of formation of the Ukrainian mechanical engineering and reproduction of activity of outstanding scientists of mechanical engineers have received further development.
