2. The dissertation defines the general principles of research of liability for extortion of illegal benefits under the criminal law of Ukraine. The work analyzes the criminal legislation of foreign countries. Formed their four groups. As a result of the study, a number of amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine are proposed, the basis of which is the inclusion of a new article in the Criminal Code: Article No Extortion of undue benefits1. Extortion by an official of a legal entity of private law regardless of the organizational and legal form of unlawful gain with threatening to commit acts or inaction using the powers granted to a person who provides undue benefit. 2. Extortion by a person providing public services, unlawful benefit with threatening to commit acts or inaction using the powers granted against a person who provides undue benefits3. Extortion by an official of unlawful gain with threatening to commit acts or inaction with the use of power or official position against a person who provides undue benefit, or willful creation of conditions under which a person is forced to provide undue benefit in order to prevent harmful consequences in respect of their rights and legitimate interests
