Essay

The research is devoted to the study of international legal aspects of the functioning of the free trade zone, its institutional and conventional components in connection with the entry into force of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. Separate aspects of the dissertation research are the analysis of theories of economic integration and the relationship between free trade zones and the legal system of the World Trade Organization. In addition, special attention is paid to the work on the development of a classification of free trade zones, which, at the moment, have a more in-depth and comprehensive legal nature. An important component of the dissertation research is the analysis of a number of legal instruments to implement the provisions of the free trade zone, in particular-harmonization, transposition and accession to international agreements. An urgent problem is the lack of a Glossary in national legislation that would contain such legal terms as “harmonization”, “transposition”, “adaptation”, “approximation”, since the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU provides for the implementation of the legal obligations assumed under the Agreement, especially in accordance with Title IV “Trade and Trade-related Matters”. Thus, there is a need for legal justification of the use of the above-mentioned terms in the context of implementing the provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
