Khomenko A. Law definitions: concept, nature and significance (comparative legal aspect).

The essence and significance of law definitions in the context of the development of the democratic legal systems of our time are investigated in the thesis, their classification is made. It is noted that the current stage of development of legal science is characterized by the lack of comprehensive analysis of the concept, nature and significance of law definitions in the context of contemporary democratic legal systems and, as a consequence, an underestimation of their independent importance in the legal regulation of social relations. The doctrinal developments of legal scholars in the field of law definitions have largely been devoted to examining their interrelations with other legal techniques, as well as to characterizing their basic features, varieties and functions. At the same time, there are no specific studies in the domestic legal literature on the definition of the nature, role and significance of law definitions in contemporary legal systems, in particular, in the context of the peculiarities of the development of Romano-Germanic and Anglo-Saxon legal families.
