Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of skeletal condition, the level of circulating vitamin D in hospitalized patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in the Transcarpathian region, as well as the genetic determinants of osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency in Ukrainian population. The influence of biochemical and hormonal factors associated with skeletal deterioration according to X-ray densitometry in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus was established in the work. Additionally, detailed seasonal variability of vitamin D in Transcarpathia was determined. The dissertation is of great practical importance, as the results obtained help to improve the diagnosis and treatment of comorbid pathology of diabetes, osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency.
