The dissertation research is a qualifying scientific work, which offers new theoretical generalizations and provisions on the concept, features of class action, features of preparation and trial of cases of this category, as well as substantiates proposals aimed at improving the current civil procedure legislation of Ukraine on protection of rights and legal interests of numerous groups of persons. Section 1 "General Theoretical Basis of a Class Claim" discusses the general theoretical foundations and procedural procedure for proceedings in class actions, namely the analysis of the normative regulation of this protection mechanism under the laws of England, USA, Canada, Netherlands, Sweden, Lithuania, Australia and Germany. The main distinctive features of proceedings in cases of class actions are revealed, which allowed to speak about a class action as the most effective judicial procedure for protection of the rights of numerous groups of persons, which can be implemented in national legislation.
