The dissertation is devoted to solving the problem of improving the efficiency of the training of marine specialists on the basis of the competence approach through the use of adaptive methods of planning the learning process taking into account the state of the learner, in order to accelerate the acquisition of certain professional competencies: both universal and professional. The analysis of methods and means of management of the process of training marine specialists is performed in the work. The specifics of the ship's electromechanic profession are considered, the main characteristics of the operator's work are given: work indicators, peculiarities of work, basic modes of work, main signs of labor process. A ship's electrician is a person who interacts with complex equipment through information processes, works in extreme working conditions, and has a huge responsibility for the timely, rapid, error-free performance of their duties, failure to perform which could lead to a shipwreck. Peculiarities of human operator operation in organizational and technical systems are considered, classification and analysis of causes of human operator errors, characteristics of control actions and his psychophysiological and functional states are given. The main characteristics of professional experience and its impact on the reliability and efficiency of the system "man-machine" are considered. A mathematical description of the evaluation of human - operator work is given. The characteristics of the existing systems of professional training of marine specialists for updating theoretical and practical knowledge in connection with the increase of requirements to the level of qualification and the need to master modern methods of solving professional problems are given. Psychological principles and methods of professional training of operators are analyzed.
