Rudnitska L. Rokytne Glass Factory within the frameworks of evolution of the social structure of the town during 1896 1945

The research topicality of the paper is based on Rokytne Glass Factory from the perspective of the evolution of the social structure of the town. The industrial revolution in the Russian Empire in the second half of the nineteenth century was considered the propulsive force in establishing the enterprise. The economically attractive Volyn was determined by the available natural resources sufficient for glassmaking. Construction of the factory at the outskirts of Rokytne village, Ovruch County, Volyn Province, initiated town-planning processes with a specific local level of urbanization. The dynamic development of both components was observed within the territory of Russia, Poland and the Soviet Union as well, enhancing the formation of both economic and socio-cultural environment of a qualitatively new local municipality and a powerful glass enterprise.
