Akhmedov B. Land and resource potential of Volyn region and the main directions of increasing the efficiency of its use

The turbulent processes of social life of the last century led to a significant transformation of the natural landscapes of Polissya, which continues to this day. In particular, significant, on a scale, anthropogenic impacts on such a component of the natural environment as land, led to the intensification of the use of this and other natural resources of Volyn region, which led to a decrease in ecological sustainability of ecosystems over large areas. Today it has become clear that ecosystems need to be renaturalized due to barbaric behavior. Without the organization, rational use and protection of land, water and other resources, it is impossible to reproduce them, which requires optimization and increase the efficiency of use in the land resource potential. The dissertation is devoted to the constructive-geographical assessment of the land resource potential of the Volyn region and the development of measures for its optimization. For this purpose the main tasks were solved: the essence of the concept, the basic principles of use are investigated and the technique of the analysis of formation of land resource potential of the Volyn region is developed; the coefficients of agricultural development and plowing of the territory, lands are calculated, the corresponding maps of the dynamics of their course are made, thus the anthropogenic impact on the land resource potential of the region in the conditions of administrative-territorial reform is estimated; the degree of intensity of target use of land resource potential of Volyn region is determined and measures for its optimization are outlined. The scientific value of the obtained results lies in the fact that for the first time thematic maps of zoning are developed and territorial differences of quantitative and qualitative indicators of land resources of the region are reflected; the estimation of degree of intensity of target use of land resource potential of the territory in the conditions of administrative-territorial reform is developed; the ecologically admissible level of change is defined and measures for optimization of development of land resource potential of the Volyn region are outlined. The application of scientific and practical results of the study will promote the rational use of land resources of Volyn region and allow state and local authorities in designing community land use schemes to form concepts for the development of regional programs based on sustainable socio-economic development.
