Tkachenko A. Development of the cash-value life insurance in Ukraine.

The dissertation is devoted to extension of theoretical positions and development of practical recommendations on activation of the cash-value life insurance development in Ukraine for the purpose of promoting the social and economic growth of the state. The dissertation reveals the essence and proposes the author’s definition of cash-value life insurance after having analyzed the concepts of “life insurance” and “cash-value life insurance” following the parallel linear four-stage algorithm for their study, as well as highlighting their immanent characteristics. A comprehensive faceted classification is developed taking into account the main and complementary features, given the wide range of types of cash-value life insurance, as a result of systematization and critical analysis of existing approaches to the classification of cash-value life insurance in domestic and international practices. As substantiated, by performing its basic (risk, preventive, protective, conservative and compensatory) and additional (including those related to investment and social field) functions, cash-value life insurance has the ability to influence the socio-economic development of the state.
