Essay

Diaphyseal fractures account for almost half of all long bone fractures, with fractures of the tibia, femur and humerus being the most common. The results of their treatment cannot be considered positive yet, as they depend on many objective and subjective factors: the patient's age , type and degree of concomitant pathology, location and type of fracture, the duration of the period elapsed from the moment of injury to surgery, the method of fixing bone fragments, techniques of osteosynthesis and many others. Data on the most common doctor errors that occur during intramedullary blocking osteosynthesis of the bones of the extremities was updated. Significantly supplemented scientific data on reparative complications in intramedullary blocking osteosynthesis, which included delayed fusion of bone fragments (68,3%), the formation of a false joint with varying degrees of osteogenic activity (13%) and non fusion of fragments (18,7%). Surgical technology of closed intramedullary fixation of fractures of long tubular bones (Pat. №143103) which is aimed at preventing complications of reparative osteogenesis, which will increase the effectiveness of treatment and improve the quality of life of patients with diaphyseal fractures of the bones of the extremities was reasoned and implemented in practice.
