Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the influence of polarization disorders of decidual macrophages on the manifestation and severity of preeclampsia and the development of effective measures for its secondary prevention. Decidual macrophages play a significant role in both physiological and pathological course of pregnancy due to their plasticity and immunosuppressive properties, participation in tissue and vascular remodeling, and the ability to form local adaptive immunity. However, at present, there are no sufficient data on the features of levels of cytokines, nature of phenotypic and morpho-functional changes of macrophages, the ratio of decidual macrophages subpopulations in physiological and pathological course of pregnancy, which limits the understanding of the pathogenetic role of M1 and M2 decidual macrophages in preeclampsia. This determines the need to develop ways of secondary prevention of the disease, which would allow us to develop effective management of pregnant women with preeclampsia, aimed at normalizing the balance of subpopulations of decidual macrophages to reduce maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality.
