Dissertation for PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) degree in speciality 091- Biology (09-Biology). – Educational and Scientific Center “Institute of Biology and Medicine”, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv, 2021. The work is devoted to the study of potential effects of the Ukraine amphibians skin secretion components on the functioning of the hemostasis system. A preliminary screening for the biological effects of the components of the amphibian skin gland secretions of the species Bombina bombina, Bombina variegata, Bufo bufo, Bufotes viridis, Rana temporaria, Pelophylax ridibundus, Pelophylax esculentus, Pelobates fuscus, Salamandra salamandra and the hybrid of Bombina bombina and Bombina variegata which live on the territory of Ukraine was conducted to establish effector molecules that can affect the hemostasis system. It was established that the components of B. bombina, B. variegata, R. temporaria, P. ridibundus, P. fuscus and the hybrid B. bombina × variegata prolonged plasma APTT clotting time. The prolongation of plasma PT clotting time under the action of B. viridis, P. esculentus, P. fuscus and S. salamandra skin secretion components was observed. No statistically significant changes of plasma TT clotting time were noticed during incubation of plasma with skin secretions of all studied amphibians’ species. The results of zymography assay proved the presence of collagenolytic enzymes in the skin secretions of B. bombina, the hybrid of B. bombina × variegata, B. viridis, P. ridibundus, P. esculentus, P. fuscus and S. salamandra. It was also shown the presence of enzymes with gelatinase activity in the skin secretions of B. bombina, B. variegata, the hybrid of B. bombina × variegata, B. viridis, P. esculentus and S. salamandra. Moreover, the enzymes with fibrinogenolytic activity were found in the skin secretions of B. bombina, the hybrid of B. bombina × variegata, R. temporaria, P. ridibundus, P. esculentus, P. fuscus and S. salamandra.
