The urgent need for Ukraine to join the European community and various international organizations requires the acceleration of economic reforms, overcoming the economic, social and political crisis. The need to develop mechanisms for managing the labor market, taking into account the socio-geographical aspect, involves identifying the basic territorial patterns of TP at the local, regional and national levels.
The first section "Theoretical and methodological foundations of socio-geographical study of labor potential" considers the conceptual and terminological concept of labor potential. The formation of labor potential is influenced by a large number of different factors that can be combined into groups: demographic, social, economic, political, administrative and geographical. It is substantiated that the labor potential is one of the main factors in the formation of the general level of development of the territory, at the same time, the general level of development of the region affects the labor potential of society.
The second section "Comprehensive assessment of the labor potential of the Volyn region" considers the labor potential of the population which has a long history of formation and development. Demographic component which is the basis of the labor potential of the territory. The main characteristics of the demographic component are analyzed as: population, its dynamics, its density, level of urbanization, gender structure, age structure, birth rate, mortality, natural increase (decrease), arrival, departure, migration balance. The demographic component is the basis of the labor potential of the territory, because without the existing population we do not have to talk about the development of the economy or the territory as a whole.

The third section "Problems and prospects for the development and functioning of the labor potential of the population in the Volyn region" considers demographic indicators that are closely related to the overall level of development of the labor potential of the region. They form the basis of TP - a society that carries out labor activities and produces material goods. Social conditions have relatively little influence on the formation of TP in the region. The influence of social factors is the desire of man to seek better living conditions (satisfaction of cultural and spiritual needs, self-realization as a person, etc.). It was found that there are close relationships between the TA of the territory and the indicators of its economic development. It isin economic activity that the TP of the population of the territory is realized. There are clusters on the territory of Volyn region, which are characterized by similarity of the current situation and similar problems of development and functioningin economic activity that the TP of the population of the territory is realized.
The scientific value of the obtained results lies in the fact that in the dissertation: the typification of administrative-territorial units of Volyn region on the basis of the integrated coefficient of labor potential is carried out; territorial clusters of Volyn region according to the conditions of development and functioning of labor potential are allocated; on the basis of correlations the interrelationships between labor potential and separate factors of its formation and development are investigated.
