Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the relevant problem of art analysis of land art design practices in Ukraine and the world as a component of modern design. We carried out a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of design practices of contemporary artists in the area of land art in Ukrainian and world contexts. Identified the main stages of formation of land art in the world and identified factors that influenced its development. Have been further developed: research in the field of contemporary art on the development of land art in Ukraine and in the world; analysis of the work of the world's leading land art artists and research of their works; generalization of the terminological base in the field of land art as a component of art and design. The basic concepts of land art of the XX – XXI centuries have been defined, and also their influence on formation of modern design practices has been identified. As a result of the analysis, classifications of concepts of works of land art in the world context are given according to the main features: ecological, cosmocentric, human-centered, moments, places, environmental, mythological, etc. The analysis of the formation of the land art in Ukraine is carried out, the stages of its development are investigated, the classification of the concepts of land art in the Ukrainian context is given. Explored the work of leading world and Ukrainian artists of land art, develops typologies of land art objects on various grounds: by type, by method of creation, by size, by material and other signs. The means of creating land art objects have been researched and their generalized systematization has been developed. It is determined that to create their projects, land art artists actively use a variety of traditional techniques: weaving from natural materials, wire weaving, carving, stone processing and more. Techniques, basic materials and technologies for creating land art objects used by land art artists in their design practices have been identified, and their typologies have been developed. It is established that one of the modern directions of land art in the space of ecological design is recycling art, which has a utilitarian character and can be used by designers in their design practices. Presented a number of author projects, which are embodied and represented during expositions, festivals, symposiums in Ukraine and abroad.
