Dissertation for a Ph.D. scientific degree on the specialty 033 – Philosophy- (Logic). – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv, 2021. This study about the interconnections between logic and computer science is relevant to philosophy in many ways. For example, the understanding of the nature of computation as a logical mechanism, a mathematical basis, a scientific or engineering process, has a major impact on our interpretation of cognition and human mind. Moreover, the fast developments of machine learning, autonomous intelligent agents, and robotics have triggered a large variety of relevant ethical questions around artificial intelligence. In particular, these questions are concerned with the type of relationships that should exist between humans and machines. At the heart of these relationships, many fundamental concepts are also involved including consciousness, moral status, ethical responsibilities, and ethical computation. Another philosophical relevance could be seen through the understanding of how a purely philosophical programme, the logicism, had led to the creation of many areas of computer science.
