Karytka V. Environmental responsibility of young people as a determinant of sustainable development of industrial regions: a sociological dimension (illustrated by the Dnipropetrovsk region).

The dissertation theoretically summarizes the scientific approaches to understanding environmental responsibility as a legal and socio-economic category, its forms, varieties, functions and factors of formation are clarified. The article analyzes young people as a specific socio-demographic group, as a subject of environmental responsibility and implementation of the doctrine of sustainable development, as well as clarifies the specific features of young people in the industrial region. The goals and state of implementation of the doctrine of sustainable development in industrial regions are clarified on the example of the city of Kryvyi Rih as a large industrial region. The dissertation work improves the understanding of ways and methods of implementing the doctrine of sustainable development in industrial regions through the activation of young people in this process as an active subject of the introduction of intelligent specialization, which provides for deepening cooperation between young scientists and entrepreneurs in the field of rational use of Natural Resources and the introduction of innovative "smart" technologies. Practical significance of the dissertation consists in the fact that the theoretical provisions of the dissertation, which are empirically verified, can be used by educational institutions, management structures of the state level and local self-government, entrepreneurs and public environmental movements for activities aimed at protecting the natural environment and forming an ecological culture among the population, in particular young people, for the implementation of the doctrine of sustainable development in industrial regions. The intellectual specialization proposed in the dissertation as an innovative strategy for sustainable development takes into account the improvement of the activities of young scientists, managers, entrepreneurs and government structures in the implementation of reasonable ecological and economic development based on the formation of patterns of environmental behavior in their minds.
