Essay

In this scientific work, the author focuses on analysing the existing gender differences in the clinical presentation, treatment and long-term outcomes of patients with ACS> Particular attention is paid to identifying the gender-specific risk factors of adverse prognosis. It can be assumed that this will enable a better recognition of vulnerable groups of patients and enhance the management and observation of such patients. It was discovered that dyslipidemia has significantly worse impact on the 3-year event-free survival in women than men. It is particularly relevant in patients with advanced atherosclerosis due to poorly controlled dyslipidemia. In this scientific work, an impact of delays on the outcomes of patients with acute coronary syndrome has been analysed. It was found that delay since the symptom onset to hospitalisation >12 hours significantly correlated with adverse outcomes in women but not in men.
