Essay

The thesis contains theoretical substantiation and proposals for the practical solution to an important scientific and practical task - to improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and inguinal hernia by introducing simultaneous interventions and improving the methodology of its individual stages. The respondent clarifies the scientific data on the features of the clinical and anatomical structure of the groin space and posterior wall of the inguinal canal in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and inguinal hernia, the feasibility of simultaneous interventions, and safe points of the fixation of the mesh implant. For the first time, a new approach to the one-step simultaneous surgical treatment of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and inguinal hernia using a mesh implant was developed and substantiated. Indications and contraindications to simultaneous retropubic prostatectomy and pre-peritoneal hernioplasty with mesh implant have been determined and clarified, and surgical tactics have been improved. Improved the technique of retropubical prostatectomy by improving the technique of hemostasis and faster recovery of the vesico-prostatic segment. For the first time, long-term results and quality of life of patients after simultaneous one-stage retropubic prostatectomy and preperitoneal hernioplasty were evaluated
