Essay

The dissertation deals with solving an urgent scientific and technical problem - the normalization of the stress state of wood-working circular saws, that is, an increase in efficiency of using wood-working circular saws. Numerous experimental and theoretical studies have shown that the main cause of the loss of circular saw performance are stresses caused by centrifugal forces and uneven heating of the saw blade. In modern scientific and industrial practice, a number of methods have been developed and applied to compensate for uneven stresses, such as the use of forging and rolling discs, more advanced designs of saws and saw units. Among them, the method of creating compensation slots is singled out as the most effective one and which does not require significant material costs. However, the design of slots is chosen intuitively by different companies that manufacture circular saws and the validity of choosing a particular shape of slots, as a rule, is usually supported by experimental methods. A general methodology has been developed for conducting experimental studies, which is based on the method of mathematical planning of the experiment, modern measuring techniques, and processing the obtained results on modern PCs. An experimental installation has been developed and manufactured on the basis of the upgraded 1k62 lathe, which makes it possible to study the static stiffness of saw blades according to the developed method. A new design of a circular saw with slots in the form of Archimedes spirals is proposed, which in the course of experiments is compared with standard saws. In order to conduct experiments on determining the noise levels of saws based on mathematical planning, two variable factors were selected: the area of the compensation slot, and the second factor - the angular orientation of the compensation slot.
