Herman O. Structural changes in the testes of the rat under the influence of long-term administration of prednisolone in high doses and its sudden termination

The thesis presents a theoretical summary and a new solution to an actual scientific problem, which consists in establishing the nature and features of structural changes in the testicles of rats under the influence of long-term administration of high doses of prednisolone and after its sudden termination. A comprehensive study of the peculiarities of the morphofunctional reconstruction of the testicles of white laboratory rats and their blood stream at the organ, cellular and subcellular levels under the conditions of long-term administration of high doses of prednisolone was carried out. The morphometric characteristics of the dynamics of the restructuring of the structural elements of the testicular parenchyma and the remodeling of their blood vessels under these experimental conditions are given. Data on the state of lymphatic vessels in the testicles of intact animals were supplemented, and the peculiarities of the reactions of lymphatic vessels to long-term administration of high doses of prednisolone were noted. A comprehensive description of the morphofunctional changes in the bloodstream and structural elements of the testicular parenchyma of white laboratory rats as a result of sudden withdrawal of prednisone after its previous long-term administration in high doses is given.
