Leontiiev B. Pharmacognostic study of Viburnum opulus fruits as a promising source of medicinal plant raw material

The dissertation is devoted to experimental research on solving a scientific problem aimed at systematic pharmacognostic analysis of series of Viburnum opulus fruits from domestic harvesting areas, development of technology for obtaining a thick extract from this type of raw material, as well as standardisation of the thick extract. For the first time, the antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of a thick extract from the fruits of Viburnum opulus was determined as part of the development of the project "Viburnum opulus thick extract". The development of affordable herbal medicines from domestic sources is becoming an increasingly important issue for the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry due to constant interruptions in the supply of raw materials for production from abroad. In this area, herbal medicine is taking on new positions and can compensate for the potential shortage of medicines in the population during pandemics and martial law.
