The dissertation, based on modern scientific developments, comprehensively defined the essence and revealed the features of the legal status of professional unions of law enforcement officers, which made it possible to propose a scientifically based position on the concept and elements of the legal status of professional unions of law enforcement officers, as well as to develop proposals and recommendations in terms of improving the current legislation taking into account international legal standards of the organization and activity of labour law subjects. The choice of the research topic is determined by its relevance for the science of labour law and law enforcement practice. Despite a significant number of scientific works devoted to the problems of ensuring the activities of professional unions of law enforcement officers and outlining effective directions for improving their legal status, at the systemic level of analysis and generalization, the researched issues require in-depth research taking into account modern challenges and threats. The relevance of the study is determined by the urgent need to implement more effective mechanisms of interaction between professional unions, the state and employers within the framework of social partnership, which, in turn, requires a thorough analysis of the current state and development trends of this issue and the outline of effective directions for their improvement. It іs established that a comprehensive scientific study of the institute of the legal status of professional unions of law enforcement officers іs not yet carried out, and only some domestic scientists іs focused their attention on the study of certain issues within the limits of this institute, which increases the relevance of the chosen topic. It is substantiated that the scientific works of scientists, dedicated to the legal status of professional unions of law enforcement officers, do not cover the practical problems of its implementation and do not determine the ways of their solution.
