Essay

The control of nosocominal infection in medical and veterinary treatment facilities is extremely important in the system of preventing the spread of antibiotic-resistant strains among patients and in the environment. The dissertation research is aimed at determining the microbiological composition of the internal environment of veterinary clinics, boxes for keeping small animals and the development of preventive measures for the formation of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms in clinics. For the first time in Ukraine, the microbiota of the internal environment of veterinary clinics and boxes for keeping sick animals is characterized. It has been proven that bioaerosol in veterinary clinics can transmit pathogens of nosocominal infections, in particular MRSP and MRSA, Escherichia spp., P. aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp., etc. New data on possible cross-contamination in veterinary clinics with coagulase-positive staphylococci of animals and veterinary personnel have been obtained. Since up to 7% of veterinary personnel are carriers of S. pseudintermedius on the nasopharyngeal mucosa. In addition, the main coagulase-positive staphylococcus that colonizes the skin of healthy dogs and cats is the species S. pseudintermedius. From the skin of dogs and cats with skin diseases, the frequency of S. pseudintermedius isolation increased to 70.8% and 24.1%, respectively. The use of safe stabilized aqueous ozone for disinfection of bioaerosol and surfaces of veterinary clinics in the presence of animals has been substantiated. It has been established that that the bactericidal concentration of stabilized aqueous ozone for strains of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa in suspension was 1.71 mg/l, and for E. coli strain – 1.22 mg/l with exposure for 2 min. Microorganisms were isolated from the internal environment of the premises of veterinary clinics after aerosol treatment with stabilized aqueous ozone only in 10 – 57 % of cases in the amount of 10 – 30 CFU/m3, which depended on the initial amount of microflora in the air. The effectiveness of the use of stabilized aqueous ozone for disinfection of tables in the premises of veterinary clinics was 99.9 – 100%.
