Gutsul L. The Accentual Structure of Ukrainian Oickonyms and Otoickonymic Derivatives

The work is devoted to the studies of the accentual structure of Ukrainian oickonyms and otoickonymic derivatives. The object of this Dissertation, is the stress of oickonyms, adjectonyms and catoickonims. With the help of inductive, describing, comparative and some other methods for the first time there have been worked out peculiarities of the stress of oickonyms, adjectonyms and catoickonyms, and stated the systems of their accentuational models. It is proved that the stress in the onyms under analysis is mainly fixed in the middle of the word. There have also been investigated morphonological functions of stress in otoickonymic word-building process and also there has been stated as the dominant the process of preserving the accentuation of the formed word. There have been worked out types of accentual variations and the main trends of the process of stress of oickonyms and their derivatives are also worked out. The results of this investigation can be used while preparing to higher and se condary school courses of modern Ukrainian, special courses and seminars, in lexico-graphical practice; the suggested method could be useful while analyzing various lexico-grammatic and lexico-semantic groups.
