Essay

The thesis is dedicated to lexicon research of traditional rural construction in Boikо dialects. It has been first time when lexicon of traditional rural construction in Boikо dialects has been integrally researched, as well as system connections and degree of name preservation in realities of construction, processes, performer of the construction and tools used the builders have been under analysis. Relevance of the topic is conditioned by the necessity of recording and comprehensive lexicon study used in traditional rural construction in Boiko dialects as, by preserving tight connection with realities, it is influenced not only by intralingua factors but also by outer lingua factors that in their turn have resulted into definite changes in the content of this very lexicon group. Records of panelists` live speeches have been the sources for the research, and the records were done within 2016-2021, in accordance with the purposefully prepared question lists by the author in 80 localities. Boiko and transient dialects, as well as in published and non-published ethnographical and lexicographical sources. Transitional dialects have been also added to the chain of researched localities which serve as a basis for farther research of dialect boundaries. By using the expeditional-field research method in the thesis it has become possible to record live native speakers` dialect talks; by using a descriptive method it has become possible to highlight and analyze dialect units. Method of Component Analysis has depicted a semantic structure of names for construction realities, processes, performers and tools. Method of opposition analysis has made it able to set semantic oppositions of dialect units by one differential trait. Comparative method has shown connection between researched vocabulary with literary language vocabulary and other dialect ranges. In order to research the genesis of vocabulary units, a comparative-historical method has been used. A sociallingual method has been applied to record facts about an informant. A lingua mapping method has made it able to reproduce spacious proliferation of dialect units on atomic maps. Parallels between Boiko names of construction realities with a definite lexicon from other dialect realities have been researches. It should be said that a greater number of parallels have been found out in southern-western territorial dialect which in its turn shows the unity within one territorial dialect as well as in northern territorial dialect. Less identical names are shown in southern eastern territorial dialects.
