Research subjects: New early maturing maize hybrid Slavutich SV 162 and his parental form Samara C (maternal) and Slavutich 176 (father). Research_objectives: Studying the features of the variety agrotechniques of the new hybrid Slavutich SV 162 and his parental forms, optimization of agrotechnical practices aiming at elaboration of technological certificate for growing of the all these maize forms. Method: Field trials, laboratory and cameral investigations according to conventional methods. Theoretical_and_ practical results: On the base of obtained data on some peculiarities of the maize growth and grain yield formation the main elements of variety agrotechniques are developed and the ex- pedience of cultivation in the Ukrainian Steppe Zone of early-maturing maize hybrid is economically substantiated grain yield of which ranged from about 6 to 7 tn per ha. The highest achieved yield of stan- dard seeds of maternal form Samara C equals 4.5 mc per 100 grn and 20 mc per100 hg of expended fuel. Novelty_of_introduced: Ten to 10-15% of maize hybrids belonging to the early-maturing group are introduced into the verity maize composition for the first time in Steppe Zone of Ukraine. The introduction of the group is executed on the base of technological certificates also newly developed and approbated for the Steppe Zone. Inplementation_degree: The investigation results have been implemented in collective agricultural enter- prises (CAE) of Dniepropetrovsk region in the area of 2 thousand ha with general economic return of 336 thousand grn. For the year of 2000 the respective agreements are concluded with 15 CAE.
