MAGRYTs'KA I. Wedding vocabulary of East Ukrainian patois

In the dissertation for the first time vocabulary, phraseological units and cliches are presented and investigated, which are the means of verbal realisation of semantic field "traditional wedding" in East Ukrainian patois. Onomasiological analysis of chosen vocabulary on the background of detailed description of rite is made. It is defined that majority of wedding lexemes retain strong motivation ties with rite's reality, and names borrowed from other spheres have cultural motivation and strong symbolism. Means and modes of wedding notion's nomination are defined, reasons of for-mal and semantic variations in patois under study are found out. On the basis of comparison of regional vocabulary of two chronological peri-ods transformation peculiarities of patois are established. Interpretation of East Ukrainian wedding vocabulary in broad Slavic context is carried out, which made it possible to define in its structure separate layers, and to es-tablish ties with other East Slavic dialects. Spatial conduc t of area relevant vocabulary and semantics is analyzed. It is de-fined that linguistic maps testify to minimal territorial differentiation of patois, and grouping of one-type lexico-semantic factors make it possible to mark in East Ukrainian language continuum five not clearly mode of nomination.defined microareas.
