Bisquaternary ammonium compounds (BQAC):decamethoxinum, aethonium, tionium. The work is aimed to study interactions of components of biomembranes with the BQAC. By means of mass spectrometry and calorimetry methods structural and energetic parameters of the BQAC and its complexes with phospholipids are obtained. By AM1 method the electronic parameters and geometry of BQAC are calculated, the structure-activity correlations are shown. The molecular mechanisms of the antimicrobial activity of the BQAC are established. The fields of application are molecular biophysics and pharmacology.
