Kutsenko N. The basic problems of biology, breeding and seed growing immortelle sandy in conditions forest-steppe of Ukraine.

Object: sandy immortelle. Goal: to study the problems of biology , selection and seed- production of sandy immortelle in the conditions of the Ukrainian Forest- Steppe. Methods: physical, breeding, agrotechnical, morphological, chemical, statistical. Results: there have been studied the peculiarities of the formation of morphological structures at the stage of ontogenesis; there have been investigated seed peculiarities as well as the biology of their germination. The effect of radionuclides contamination on sandy immortelle. Collection material of wild forms' samples and spring forms of the plant has been studied. The results of the breeding work in the Forest- Steppe zone of Ukraine are summarized. The scientific grounds for conducting seed production are developed. There has been determined the effect of kernel's size on its growth, development and yield of sandy immortelle. There have been established the optimal growing conditions, sowing dates and sowing techniques for seeds. The variety " Zoloti stiy" has been released. Area of application: breeding scientific research institutions, collective and private farms.
