Essay

Object of research: processes of growth, development, formation of yield of green mass and seeds of sainfoin lines in breeding nurseries, assessment of new lines for adaptability to adverse growing conditions. The purpose of research: to optimization of the criteria for the selection of sainfoin to accelerate the selection process during the summer sowing period in conditions of moisture deficiency, high air temperatures and rapid drying of the soil. Research methods: general science: field; laboratory; measuring and weighting; computational and methods of mathematical statistics: variance, correlation and graphical display of data. Also used special: dialectical, hypothesis, synthesis, induction, statistical, observation, economic and mathematical. Results: the application of the proposed criteria for the selection of sainfoin in scientific research accelerates the selection process and allows obtaining varieties with an increased ability to resist adverse biotic and abiotic factors during the stages of organogenesis. The use of the developed technology in seed farms allows for accelerated reproduction of scarce seeds by reducing the reproduction of freshly harvested seeds by one year. Scientific developments implemented in production and breeding research have shown high efficiency, which is confirmed by relevant acts. Novelty: the elements of the technology of summer sowing with freshly harvested, fallen seeds of varieties (lines) of sainfoin are substantiated (utility model patents No. 84442, No. 147945 and No. 147992); it is proposed to use the coefficient of negative effect of drought (Kned) to determine the adaptability of sainfoin lines; created the Resonance (patent No. 170305) and Krasen (patent No. 220343) varieties of sainfoin with stable productivity in the conditions of the eastern part of the Northern Steppe. The existing criteria for the selection of sainfoin in the conditions of the eastern part of the Northern Steppe have been improved, which allow more fully realizing the genetic potential of new lines and stabilizing the processes of plant growth and development. Scientific approaches to identifying patterns of correlation between adaptive capacity and economic and biological characteristics of sainfoin lines have gained further development. Field: agricultural sciences.
