Essay

The object of the investigation is architectural constructions of temple and market ensembles in small West Ukrainian towns. The aim of the investigation is to define the principles and the systematic foundations for the reconstruction of the historical ensemble buildings in small West Ukrainian towns by discovering historical and modern peculiarities of their formations and development and on the basis of modern requirements towards them. The methods of the investigation are analysis of the scientific literature, analysis and generalization of the modern native and foreign experience of reconstruction in historical towns, historical and modern comparative analysis of the monuments and environment, typological analysis of ensemble constructions, experimental projecting. The scientific novelty is: improvement of the systematization of the historical ensembles of small Western Ukrainian towns by their spatial peculiarities; improvement of the architectural constructions types systematization of the inve stigate ensembles, by their typological division, improvement of classification of historical ensembles and their components by degree of preservation of their functional purposes. For the first time were determined the principles of town-planning, spatial and functional reconstruction of historical ensembles of small towns of Western Ukraine. The methods of complex reconstruction of the buildings as part of a single historical ensemble in small towns were improved. For the first time recommendations for directing of modern development of architectural constructions and historical ensembles were developed, which take into account prospects of the development of a town as a whole. A practical application of the investigation results can be realized by working with concrete projects of reconstruction and regeneration of buildings of historical ensembles, and also by elaborating methodological documents for use in the teaching process.
