The object of the research is I.S. Nechui-Levitsky's historical novels "Prince Yeremia Vishnevetsky", "Hetman Ivan Vigovsky". The aim of the research is opening creative originality of Nechui-Levitsky realization of historical fact and artistic fiction. The scientific novelty. It is outlined the circle of novel's historical sources, and the system of links between them and Nechui-Levitsky's works. The practical results can be used in the university course of the ukrainian literature history.
